Here’s a bit of news we’re celebrating in 2026. A recent survey in the US by Booking.com has revealed that more than 60% of women plan to travel solo within the next two years, with over-45s the fastest growing sector.
Solo female travel (as we at Club Avandra already know!) has shifted from niche interest to mainstream force, with new data and operator insights indicating it will be a key driver of tourism trends in the coming year.
Traveller behaviour and motivation are the main shifts. Women are moving away from ‘checklist’ sightseeing and fast-paced itineraries, instead prioritising journeys built around emotional reset, cultural immersion and meaningful connection.
Wellness retreats and culture and community-driven travel are outperforming traditional “see-everything” holidays, particularly among women experiencing midlife transition, loss, reinvention or new independence.
We are here for all of this in ‘26 at Club Avandra. If you want baroque beauty in the Med, then sign up for our bespoke trip to Malta led by our lifestyle director, the journalist and half-Maltese, Marianne Jones. Or ‘souk up’ the cultural and fashion finds of Marrakesh with former glossy mag editor Jo Elvin. Alternatively, dip a toe into our Avandra Loves wellness experiences. Whatever floats your boat – or luxury yacht – we have designed the perfect high-end, small-group itinerary for you. With like-minded women. Solo but not alone. Raise a glass to an adventure-filled 2026!
