The number of solo travellers flying from England’s largest airports has increased by a whopping 89% in the past decade, from 50 million to 95 million.

And guess which demographic is leading the charge? Women over the age of 55, who have disposable income and want adventures without the excess baggage of partners, kids or having to organise the whole damn thing themselves.
