If you could describe the perfect grown-up girls’ night out, the launch of Club Avandra in October would come pretty damn close.
The champagne kept on popping, the exceptionally chic London Marylebone Hotel vibrated with laughter, and there was excellent chat among our guests, including media names, travel heavyweights and TV personalities (with a surprise appearance by Celebrity Traitor Kate Garraway!).
All these confident, adventurous women live up to our Club Avandra acronym: SWANS. That stands for Sorted, Worldly And No Sh*ts Given, and it perfectly sums up our new tribe.

Recent figures from UK travel industry organisation Abta reveal an explosion of bookings from women actively choosing to travel alone, with one tour operator reporting that 46% of bookings were by solo travellers – 70% of them women. Many have partners, family and a full social life, but are looking for freedom and the chance to explore on their own terms. Does that sound familiar?
