You may or may not be surprised to hear that a good chunk of female-only trips are taken by women happily in relationships.
Having spent much of our lives working, bringing up families, and yes, picking up his socks from the floor, many women get to a point of seeking – and being able to afford – a break away from it all.
The UK travel industry organisation Abta recently reported that increasing numbers of women – the SWANs among us (our Club Avandra acronym, which stands for Sorted, Wordly and No Sh*ts Given!) are choosing compromise-free holidays in small groups with likeminded woman. Places from Marrakech to Malta, to soak up luxury, culture and activities without the headache of planning for other halves or kids.
